Microsoft's Developer Network subscriptions package, a set of development tools and libraries that is typically delivered as a 20 CD-ROM set, is also offered on a single DVD-ROM. In order to spur sales of this alternate (and more cost-effective) medium, MacLaren developed an interactive campaign focused on promoting a rebate on each DVD purchase.

In addition to expanding Flash banners (English and French language), MacLaren developed an MSDN rebate splash page, Google keyword campaign, and MSN.ca text link program. The campaign's results exceeded expectations.

These two Microsoft Go-To-Market (GTM) campaigns shared similar creative executions. For each campaign, MacLaren conceived and developed a splash page, flash banner (English and French language), Google keywords, and MSN text links.

A targeted media buy put the banners on Canadian business and developer sites, driving to their associated splash pages. As with all our Microsoft campaigns, our metrics exceeded the industry average by a good measure.

Microsoft's Home & Retail Division tapped MacLaren to conceive and develop a campaign to support the launch of their Broadband Networking line of products. Our Flash banner campaign adapted the U.S. print creative to deliver a clear and compelling message to consumers.

These ad units have since been nominated for several industry awards.

MacLaren McCann Interactive was engaged to boost sales of Visual Studio .NET, the latest version of Microsoft's integrated software development suite. Solid Flash creative and a still-unique expanding banner format delivered solid results for the client.

We spent longer than usual developing this campaign, but the results - in some cases, click-through rates over 1% - were well above industry average and drove a 100% increase in Visual Studio .NET online sales.

Simple gif banners developed to raise awareness of Microsoft's new gaming console, Xbox. The Canadian Xbox site, Xbox.ca, was the primary site on the media buy for this campaign, but these ads also appeared on the MSN Messenger chat client and the MSN.ca homepage, resulting in millions of impressions.
